The week from hell
As the record heatwave continues to grip the south east of Australia the bad news just keeps mounting. People are losing their homes in the raging bushfires of Gippsland while much of Melbourne has been blacked out by power failures. Worse still (in my opinion, although the media has only given this story 3rd ranking), over in Adelaide 22 people are reported to have died from heat-stress.
Incredible as it may seem though, there are some people who are clearly oblivious to all this pain & sufferring and seem to think that nothing else matters except their own selfish indulgence. I give you:
The world’s biggest cad!

Don't you just love summer?

Worse still for you lot is the way that it proves that Queensland is the best part of Australia with in which to live , we have been having lovely mild weather a little humid but most liveable. Perhaps this is just the deity’s way of reminding you southern lefties of what awaits you if you don’t repent your wicked socialist ways

Raymond, you only live about 500 m from me and you look awfully lonely in that pool. So much water and only you in it.
I’d invite you over, Baldrick, but a women’s water polo team has booked it for the weekend. I’ll be ‘supervising’ of course.
I used to be a member of the Williamstown Lifesaving Club, offer my services free of charge. However if it is the Hungarian squad I might give it a miss, bit squeamish about blood.
No, it’s not the Hungarian team, but they sent me an advance photo: http://alpineopinion.wordpress.com/files/2009/01/waterpolo1.jpg
I was a bit reluctant to take the booking at first but then I thought, “Oh, what the heck”.
And Leanne let you take the booking? She’s a very trusting lady!
She hasn’t seen the photo, Noel.
I’ve just emailed her a copy!
Thanks Noel. The photo drew a fairly typical response. She said, “Don’t confuse your capabilities with your ambitions.”
I guess I’ll just have to be satisfied with the visual effects.

I hope you get an ear infection.
Not yet, Dave, all I’ve got so far is a tan.
