Barry ’stupid’ Hall
I was going to leave this rant against the ‘mad dog’ from Sydney AFL team, Barry Hall, for special mention in my Round 11 ’round-up’, but there’s one more game to go and I don’t think I can contain myself for another 24 hours or so.
What is wrong with this bloke?
Hall had another of his notorious and infamous brain-snaps on Sunday giving away 3 x50 metre penalties in the last quarter of a close game against Hawthorn, probably costing Sydney any chance of victory – when it looked like they would win.
I’m not a Sydney supporter (well, who is?) but what really pisses me off is I tipped Sydney to win this and they probably should have.
That would have put me two up on co-tipster Baldrick this round (I told you Essendon couldn’t beat Adelaide!) but now we’re even.
And worse still – for some inexplicable reason - I’ve picked Melbourne to beat Collingwood!
I’m doomed.

Could be the first symptoms of swine flu. Either the rantee or the ranter is coming down with it.
The rantee – he caught it from one of his NRL ‘girlfriends’.
Think there’s a spot for him at the Saints. He’s angling to get back it seems. Your lot needs a bit of mongrel Raymond.

Tell that to North’s coach Dean Laidley. Nth Melbourne tried to outmatch St Kilda in the toughness and ‘hard at it’ stakes on Saturday and for one and a bit quarters it worked. But then they got tired of running into brick walls with names like Koschitzke, Riewoldt, King, Ball, Hayes etc and ended up with only 17 fit men. It was one of the toughest games I’ve seen this year and (not wishing to get too carried away here) the Saints came through it with flying colours.
As for Hall, well the reason we let him go to Sydney in the first place was for exactly the type of things he did yesterday. He wouldn’t be welcomed back, just like Lyon refused to take Everitt back.
Are you looking forward to round 14? It’s going to be the clash of the century.
Btw, knowing how the AFL thinks (in monetary terms) what’s the betting that Steven King gets just 2 weeks for that ‘off the ball’ incident against Sam Power, allowing him (coincidentally) to play in the ‘blockbuster’ against his old side?
Early prediction. St.Kilda will beat Geelong for four reasons:
(1) they are a better side;
(2) the win will mean much more to them than to Geelong. Psychological bragging rights;
(3) our forwards will do their customary spraying at goal and be characteristically inaccurate
(4) your gifted draft picks have finally come good. Riewoldt and Koschitzke to be the difference.
No doubt you’ll find more reasons.
Hmm, I think Geelong are the obvious favourites, given the fact they’ve won what, 50 of their past 53 games or something like that?
But it should have been moved to the G. I don’t accept Andy’s explanation – maybe he’s on a kickback from the ‘Darklands’ stadium?
