Jacko dead

Posted in Uncategorized by Ray Dixon on 26 June, 2009

jacko1From the Herald Sun:

Michael Jackson has died following a suspected cardiac arrest. Paramedics reportedly performed CPR on the 50-year-old singer while transporting him to hospital in Los Angeles, but reports claim they never managed to get a pulse.

Comment: I guess he stopped, because he had enough.

You should see Twitter. Good grief!

Hopefully he hadn’t abused his sons yet and they’ll be safe now.

Yes, let’s break another big issue up into sound bites.

I imagine a lot of people will be talking about Jackson’s whacky side but I think he should be remembered for his great talent. This guy was a stand out performer and, at such a young age when he first enjoyed such huge success, it’s no wonder he went weird. A great loss.

It’s sad the last many years of his life were as tough as they were. But if you look and behave like a nut-job then you’re going to attract that sort of attention. Goodbye to Farrah too.

I’ll miss him, its too bad his life went so pear shaped at the end, but in his day he was truly pop royalty and will still be remembered as such. rip mj

Well the “@”Twitterers are all trying to outdo each other with their o-so-witty remarks about Jackson. I’m not seeing anything funny in them but I’m reading a lot of disrespect. Get a life and say something credible for Christ’s sake – you sound like school children.

On second thoughts, that’s an insult to school children. Moronic is a more appropriate description of some of the Tweets on Jacko. Gee, he was ‘weird’ was he? Oh, we didn’t know that. By the way, he was also one the world’s great artists … and he’s now dead.

I think that the ‘creative genius’ part of Michael Jackson died a long time ago, leaving us with the freak that so many people are disparaging. I also think that the negative stuff about Jackson is simply a reaction to the overblown grief that people end up displaying whenever a celebrity dies.

I don’t think he was “creative” at all, Dave. Michael Jackson was a performer of songs more than a writer. As for being “past it”, well we’ll never know. He’d just sold out 50 comeback concerts and my guess is, despite his weirdness, his stage performance, singing & dancing would have been just as good as ever.

As for the distasteful Twitter comments it’s a bit more than a counter-reaction to the “overblown grief”. His body’s not even cold yet and I’m sure the mainstream will ALSO bring up his nutty side.

Sadly, listening to talk back radio people seem to be in one of two camps.

Either he was a musical genius let’s forgive him of his sins OR he was a freak paedophile let’s spit on his grave. He should be remembered as a flawed genius whose muisical talents spoke for themselves but had many issues. It’s sad, but as is usual with these things the coverage over the next few days will be way over the top.

It seems most geniuses are “flawed”, Wah, especially the dead ones. So was Presley, Morrison, Joplin, Hendrix and even John Lennon. I’m flawed too but I’m alive (just).

Do we really need to see a photo of Michael Jackson’s corpse?

If “flawed” is the key, crikey, I must be one hell of a genius then, Ray.

Um, no offence intended, JR, but granite is usually more “flawed” than a rare diamond is.
