Update on Bright Pool

Update Wednesday 8/7/09:

Earlier today I asked CEO Ian Nicholls by email if the council had agreed to HIS recommendation that council purchase the bankrupt & decrepid heated indoor pool but unfortunately Ian hasn’t responded.

HOWEVER, according to Prime TV News tonight, the Alpine council HAS decided to proceed with the purchase.

It’s a weak and wrong decision in my opinion. This will cost the ratepayers plenty in ongoing losses.

This council lacks the balls to say “NO, it’s not on”.

    how ’bout this for an update: apparently the police was called in to prevent a certain town entity’s mates from removing the gym equipment before the shire took over the sports centre.
