And he also hates the Hot Rods
This post expressing hatred for the forthcoming Bright Rod Run event, is from an anonymously authored anti-Ray Dixon website that I stumbled across recently.
I know who runs this piece of garbage because some time ago he expressed almost identical sentiments about the hot rod event in a private email that he sent me under his own name (for a change). Obviously he’s forgotten about that but I still have the email and it is surely written by the same person. I only publish this in the hope that he deletes his hateful blog – I’d rather not name him because he tends to throw a hissy fit when exposed.
I won’t give the web address of this fairly new hate site, as I don’t want to send it any traffic, but just be aware that we have in this town an anonymous nutjob who sees nothing wrong with slandering those he does not like by using the anonymity of the internet to stalk and harass them. His hatred knows no boundaries. My response to his crap about the hot rods follows the quoted pieces:
Alternative Bright Rod Run traffic plan
All rodders DO A U-TURN BEFORE YOU GET TO BRIGHT and go back where you came from we don’t want you taking over our town with your noisy and air polluting machines, we don’t want your cars parked everywhere: on footpaths, around the clocktower, in disabled parking spots, on median strips. We don’t want to see you getting on the piss all day long in the main street which sends all the wrong messages to our children. We don’t want you driving around town all day and all night giving our seniors headaches and sleepless nights and our asthma sufferers coughing fits. Bright is not a whore and we don’t like being blackmailed: Give us more money or the Hot Rods will have to go somewhere else! Well go somewhere else! Try Moe, very nice at this time of the year. As Johnny Howard said: “we will decide who comes to this town and the circumstances in which they come”

what the rodders don’t realize is that except for a few greedy motel owners nobody in Bright likes the rod run. They come here and take over the town vroom vroom brain dead petrol heads that leave a mess behind for us to clean up. Bright can live without hot rods and rod runs.mo said, on October 28, 2009 at 10:02 am
just how long is it gonna be before one of these rodders run over one of our kids while hooning around town ? get lost rodders!
Comment:
I’d suggest that ’Mary’ and ‘Mo’ are also creations of the author of this sanctimonious and wrong-headed blog. Anyway, you really have to wonder why the author finds it so hard to put up with the hot rod event, which really only runs for less than 3 days. Sure they “take over the town”, but if the author thinks Bright should be immune from certain types (or groups) of people and that he has a right “to decide who comes to this town …”, then he is not only a prized d*ckhead, he is also living in la-la land. The author is entirely self-centred with no grasp of reality. He cares not for his own community, despite claiming to do so, and has no understanding of how the real world works. In short he’s a sociopath.
Get it through your stupid thick head: ANYONE is entitled to visit Bright, and the hot rodders - regardless of whether you like them or not - have every right to hold their event in Bright, which actually needs them (and welcomes them) so that YOU have a town that is viable enough for YOU and your snotty-nosed kids to live in.
If you don’t like the fact that Bright is a 100% commercial tourist town that by necessity must attract events and tourists as much as it possibly can, then here’s a tip:
How about YOU go back to the gutter that you came from (which wasn’t here) and don’t come back?
Rant over. So I ask you: Who in this town do you think would (a) have such retrograde opinions? (b) Go to the trouble of setting up an anonymous website to express them?

Sounds like you’re looking in the mirror Ray
My, my you ARE obsessed aren’t you “Wal”? The post has only been up for minutes.
Pretty dumb comment though and I only let it through to ask you this question: Um, what do YOU think about the Hot Rod event, Wal?
“They come here and take over the town vroom vroom brain dead petrol heads that leave a mess behind for us to clean up. Bright can live without hot rods and rod runs”
No, we can live without you – but you can’t live here without events like the hot rods.
I promise, Wal & Co, that I’ll fight Raymond tooth and nail to ensure he doesn’t pinch the Chrysler show as well.
I’d hate to see you lot have another reason to bitch.
Chryslers might be a bit too modern for them, JR.
Sorry, forgot about them being hillbillies, didn’t I?
They’d probably say, “Wow, look at them futuristic cars, I gotta get me one of those.”
The stalker is still at it and has even attacked my dogs! But what he doesn’t seem to understand is that his anonymous stalking actions are the work of a very sick puppy.
Should I name him? Oh, I better not, he might get all upset again.
C’mon Ray, what is the site (so his comments can be argued with) and who is it?
It’s not even a good hate site….It’s crap, don’t bother.
Your stalker needs to read some Iain Hall when he was ‘niceperson’ to see what an internet stalker can do if he sets his mind to it.
I suggest that you try and leave him alone Ray, and he may go away. If he is a like other stalkers though, you may have a battle.
Stalkers are like a dog with a bone, they often can’t leave it alone, just like Iain’s obsession with Jeremy and Scott.
I’m not mentioning Iain to have a go at him, everyone has seen how he behaves and he has been very public in defence of his behaviour, but he is a good example of how far an internet stalker can go if you take them on.
Demanding peoples personal details and then bribing others to get them for you, encouraging anonymous friends to troll you across the interweb, setting up dozens of attack and hate blogs, editing comments at their blog to make you seem stupid or extreme, sock puppets, spamming, pretending to be you……All kinds of dirty stuff, some of which is already happening to you……Watch out!
Andrew, I don’t want to feed it and just mentioning it was probably a mistake too. I just wanted to send him a message about his behaviour, that’s all. As Craigy says, it’s not worth going there.
Craigy, I think Iain’s moved on from those early days.
Yeah I guess Ray, he still has a thing for Jeremy and Scott though…and tries to re-write his past any chance he can….
Best for you to leave it alone if you can…the dog thing is a worry though…
