On the radio
I’ve been asked to make my comments about the opening of the Bright Woolworths supermarket tomorrow (Thursday 29 April) on ABC Local Radio. I’ll be talking with Joseph Thomsen sometime between 8.30 am and 9 am. It’s on 89.7 FM in Bright, 91.7 in Myrtleford & 106.5 elsewhere in the area. I think he’s having a Save Bright spokesperson too. Please have a listen.
(PS: I won’t be ‘bagging’ anyone. I want to put forward a positive point of view because I believe it’s a great thing for the town)
UPDATE: Did you hear it? I was on around 8.55 am – followed by Save Bright’s Lee Rosser. Who won?

will there be a pod cast?
What’s a pod cast?
A way of listening to the broadcast online
I’ve got an old cassette recorder. Will that work?
Well I for one would love to hear your five minutes of Fame Ray!
I have no idea how to do it or how it’s done, Iain.
Ask the station what the link is to their audio stream is and we can listen even up here in Queensland
I think you can find it here:

Unable to listen to it as apparently I have to add to the Australian GDP (mind you I wouldn’t call it value adding).
Is there some way to get a transcript? In other words, email me your speech/diatribe/thesis.
Please to deny/confirm the following strong rumours circulating around Bright:
(1) a plague of locusts will descend on Bright tomorrow;
(2) lightning will strike the first customer to enter the supermarket
Thank you for all the support Ray, I will see you soon, I predict great business, especially this week. Good luck tomorrow.
Happy to help out, Nicholas. Btw, are you from Woolies?
No contest Ray. Lee sounded a broken & petulant loser. The interview was brought to a screaming halt when things looked like getting libelous of Woolies & Coles.
Is this the end of Save Bright? If they had any sense the three or four of them would hold a public burial service at the clocktower to give the media some more footage to trot out about Bright – or perhaps a float (hearse) in the Gala Day parade would be a fitting farewell performance.
Btw was that Wal Willow I saw in the “nothing above $2 aisle”?
What about publishing a transcript?
Thanks Percy. I had to laugh when he used the example of what has happened in other towns (in America!) when a big store moves in. This is not America, Lee. Name one example of Woolies or Coles having a negative impact on any town in Australia? He’s had 3 and a half years to find one!
JB, I don’t think there’ll be a transcript but maybe there’ll be a brief news item about it on the ABC Goulburn Murray website later today. If so, I might be quoted there.
Jeez the mans a celebrity ….
Yes, my *reputation* precedes me, Vijay. The ABC knows all the troublemakers and where they live.
